NGC 7000 The North American Nebula

Air was very calm and clear except to the south. The XSi camera used for this image was not modified for greater sensitivity to red, so it shows more of the blue-white reflection nebulosity and less of the red H emission seen in most photographs of this nebula.

Irvine Lake airstrip, Ontario; November 11 2009, 8:30-9:30 PM; T=-1 C, seeing excellent. 200mm lens at f/3.5, ISO 800, on unmodified Canon XSi; unguided; 3x10 minute + 2x5 minute exposures.
